Bealeton Facility
Shawn and Katrina Wampler (pictured above right), have overseen the Bealeton facility since 2009. Katrina's grandfather, Clyde Bender, purchased the property in 1979 and opened the facility in 1987, and the Bender family has owned it ever since. Katrina's father was the third born of seven, and a pastor in her hometown of Cumberland, MD. In the summers, she would visit and spend time helping around the farm and spending time at the home, helping with various activities. Shawn, originally from Frostburg, MD, started working with Blue Ridge a few years after marrying Katrina. He has been the administrator in Bealeton now for 15 years.
Esther
Shawn's grandmother, Esther, whose parents emigrated from Calabria, Italy, came to BRCH in 2018 and lived to be 94!
Rose
Rose, Esther's sister and Shawn's great aunt, came to live in Bealeton in 2020 and lived to see her 102nd birthday!
Clyde and Chef Debi Hicks Sing a Hymn
Our very first chef hired in 1987, Debi Hicks, is pictured playing a hymn while the founder, Clyde Bender, sings along. After 38 years, and over 700,000 meals prepared, Debi is still serving faithfully in Bealeton, not only in the kitchen, but as wise counsel to Shawn and Katrina!
