Raphine Campus
After moving from the original location in Stuarts Draft, VA, Melvin and Carmina Bender opened the Raphine home in 2000 and are still living on-site and engaged in daily operations after 24 years. The small home-like feel and beautiful open design accommodates a maximum of 20 elders . With bright rooms, floor to ceiling windows, and a welcoming living room that each of the elders places a recliner that they bring from home, staying connected and apart of the community are a part of everyday life.
Independent Living
Surrounded by the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains, and only a very short (but steep!) drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, our Shenandoah Valley, Raphine location offers beautiful villas for those living independently but desiring to downsize and live and enjoy the historic Rockbridge County area. Only approximately 15 miles from Lexington and 20 miles from Staunton, there are ample historic and entertainment venues to enjoy! The villas include one, two, or three bedroom units, from approximately 1200 to 1800 square feel. Designed for accomodiation, all units are wheelchair accessible.
Campus Life
The Village, as it is affectionately known, offers the options to purchase or rent depending on availability. Many friendships and memories are made strolling around and visiting neighbors throughout the year. The simplified and slow pace of country living is a welcomed change from the busy urban life and the feeling of home for those already acclimated to rural scenery. Our family owned and operated assisted living facility is located only steps from the independent living villas if the need for more care every arises.
